Box Hill Technical School opened on Dunloe Avenue, Mont Albert North, in 1943. Enrolments had reached 636 by 1967. It became a co-educational college in 1985 upon merging with Whitehorse Girls Technical School (which closed). In 1993 it was rebadged as Box Hill Senior Secondary College, only catering for Years 10 to 12. This forced students in Years 7 to 9 to move to other schools, with Koonung Secondary College featuring prominently. Therefore, Box Hill Technical can be considered closed.
